Differences Between Series A and B
DeviceNet Adapters
About the Differences
The following list details the differences/enhancements between
DeviceNet Series A and B adapters:
Series B adapters (that have their Mac ID switches set to 64-99)
support the recovery of nodes that fail the Dup Mac test via
RSNetWorx Faulted Address Recovery Wizard.
Series B adapters, along with the new configuration applet
within RSNetWorx (version 4.01 and later), eliminate the ADR
and pass-through/bridging limitations associated with the
Series A and custom applet.
Series B adapters add support for additional 1769 bus-specific
features that enable you to use the 1769-HSC.
Series B adapters have increased input, output, and
configuration data capacities.
Series B adapters have slightly different performance
characteristics. For example, the delay/throughput for the Series
B is slightly more than the Series A due to the revised hardware
memory architecture.
Series B and RSNetWorx (version 4.01) are required for
compatibility with these modules:
1769-IF4XOF2
1769-HSC
1769-OW16
1769-OA16
all future 1769 I/O modules
