You can use the Copy command from the Section menu to copy an
existing
section in
an AutoMax system. The source section may be in
a different library. All database information and files that exist for all
racks
in the source section will be copied to the new section. Y
ou can
choose to modify the section name, as well as the name, description,
location, and engineer for each of the racks in the section.
NOTE: Section Copy uses the Rack Copy procedure to copy each of
the racks in the source section into the new section. Because of a
network module's ties to the systemĆwide network database, copying
the rack's local database entries for linked variables could result in
either unresolved global names or unexpected links to the wrong
registers in the network. To avoid these problems, all linked variables
will be unlinked in the destination rack. You must manually relink the
network variables and resolve any conflicts that might occur in the
destination network(s).
Use the following procedure to copy a section.
Step 1. Select Copy from the Section menu to display the Copy
Section dialog box (see figure 5.10).
Step 2. Select the source drive, library, and system, and section.
Select OK to continue, or Cancel to return to the System
Configurator without copying the system.
Step 3. The Modify Destination Section dialog box is displayed
(see figure 5.11). Enter the following information:
Name Ć The descriptive name (unique within the system)
for a group of racks, an alphanumeric string of up to 8
characters (no spaces, hyphens, or underscores). (R)
Engineer Ć The engineer in charge of the section, an
alphanumeric string of up to 31 characters. (O)
