Chapter 3 Use a PowerFlex 40 Drive in an RSLogix 5000 Project

Test the PowerFlex 40 Tags

1. Move the controller’s mode switch

to the RUN position.

2. In the configuration tree, double-

click Controller Tags.

3. Change the tag

O.CommandRegister.Run

tag to 1.

The 1769-SDN scanner module

transitions to Run mode.

4. Expand the PowerFlex 40

output tag.

In this case the tag is named Local_SDN_scanner_module_N02_POL_O.

5. Change the O.Reference tag to a value of 10.

The value 10 equals 1.0 Hz. This is the speed to which your drive accelerates.
