Tool Control Functions
Chapter 13
13-5
You can enter data in the wheel geometry table and radius/orientation
offset table through programming. This section describes the use of the
G10 command for loading these offset tables.
Important: Only the value in the table changes when a G10 m odifies a
table value. If the value just changed with a G10 is currently being used
by the control, the value of the active offset does not changed until it is
called again from the offset table using a T word.
When thecontrolisin: any values entered in an o ffset table using the G10 command are:
incremental mode (G91) addedtothe currently existingoffsetvalues.
absolutemode (G90) replace thecurrentlyexistingoffsetvalues.
Use this format to modify the offset tables with a G10:
G10 L10 P__ X__ Z__ R__ Q__ T__ O__
Where: Is :
L10
determi nes the tablebeing modified.
L10-Modifi es the wheel geometryandradiusoffset tables
P
theoffset numberthatishaving itsvalueschanged is specified withthe Pword. The P
wordmustbe a 2-digitnumber specifying the radius/orientation offset numberand/or
thewheel geometry offsetnumberbeing modified.
X
*
thevalue to add toor replace thewheellengthoffset forthe X-axis. This value can be
a diameterorradius value ifusinga cylindricalgrinderas determinedwith theO word.
This valueisentered intothewheel geometryoffsettable.
Z
*
thevalue to add toor replace thetoollength offsetfor theZ-axis. This valueisentered
intothe wheel geometryoffsettable.
R
thevalue to add toorreplace thedresser/wheelradius compensation amount.T his
valueisentered intotheradius offsettable.
Q
thevalue to add toorreplace thedresser/wheelradius compensation orientation
value. This value isentered intothe radiusoffsettable.
O
determi nes if thevalue being enteredintothe offsettable is a radiusor diametervalue.
This appliesonlywhen settingdata forthe control’sdiameteraxis(typicallytheaxis
perpendicularto thespindle) on a cylindricalgrinder. Ifno O word is programmed, the
control usesthe currentradius/diametermode activeon the control.
O1-indicatesa radiusvalue
O2-indicatesa diametervalue
Surface grinder applicationsshould notprograman O word.
*
indicates the axis name configured on your machine. This manual assumes a (ZX) 2 axis machine
configuration.
Any values not specified in the G10 block remain in the table unchanged.
