Error and System Messages
This appendix serves as a guide to error and system messages that can
occur during programming and operation of the 9/Series control. We listed
the messages in alphabetical order along with a brief description.
Important: To display both active and inactive messages, press the
{ERROR MESAGE} softkey found on softkey level 1. For details, see
chapter 2.
Important: This appendix covers only error and system messages.
PAL-generated operator messages generally appear on lines 21 and 22 of
the CRT and should be described in documentation prepared by the
machine tool builder.

1394 AXIS MODULE MISMAT CH At power turnon the systemidentified an axis module in the 1394 rack thatis misconfigured in
AMP. Ifanextra axis moduleispresentinthe1394 rackitshould eitherbe fully configured or
notconfiguredatall in AMPevenifthataxis module isnotused or detached.
1394 RINGCOMMUNICATIONSERROR Atpower up the internal communicationsring which runs throughthefrontofthe 1394 system
and drivemodules was eithernot connected,a device on theringexperienced a hardware
failure,oradeviceon the ring wasdiscoveredto be misconfigured once a commandwas sentto
thedevice. Makesure all axismodulesand the end terminator areproperlyconnectedto
complete the communicationring.
