The macro parameters are separated into 4 tables that are accessed
through softkeys. Table 20.I lists these softkeys, the parameters
accessed through them, and additional information on the parameters.

Macro Parameter Tables
Softkey: Used to:
{LOCAL PARAM} View thelocal parametersof thecurrentlyactiveprogram(unlessthe block
lookaheadhasscanned an upcomingparamacro call). T his table includes
parameters numbered1-33. Only one of thefive availablesetscanbe
viewedonthisscreenatany one time. The local parametersresettozero
atthe end of programcommand(M02 or M30).
{COM-1 PARAM} View or edit thecommonparameters (availabletoany program,
subprogram, or paramacroprogram)numbered 100 - 199. Thesecommon
parameters lose theirvalue and are resetto zerowhenpowertothe control
isturnedoff.
{COM-2A PARAM} Viewor edit thecommonparameters (availabletoany program,
subprogram, or paramacroprogram)numbered 500 - 519. Thesecommon
parameters are batterybackedup on the 9/240;on the 9/260and9/290,
theyare backedupbythe supercapacitor. Their value is retainedeven
when powertothe controliscycled off. In addition tobei ng battery backed
up,these parametersallow an alphanumeric nameto be assigned tothem.
This alphanumericname isonlyforthepurposeof easyidentification. It
cannotbe used tocallacommonparameterin a program.
{COM-2B PARAM} Use thissoftkeyto vieworedit the common parameters. These common
parameters, 520 to699, are battery-backed up on the9/240. On the9/230,
9/260,and 9/290,parameters520 to 999 are backedup by the
supercapacitor. Their value isretained even when power to thecontrolis
cycled of f . They differ from common 2A parameters in that they do not
allow an additionalnameto be storedin thetable withtheirvalues.
2. Press the appropriate softkey for the table to be viewed or edited.

If viewing the local parameter table, do not continue to step 3. If
editing one of the common parameter tables, move on to step 3.
3. Select the paramet er to change by moving the cursor to the desired
parameter number. The selected parameter appears in reverse video.
